NOT the Vic Open (Bright, Easter 2004)
One of the most successful club events ever. A huge number of pilots enjoyed some of the last days of serious thermic activity of this season. Besides of the educational value (new pilots had plenty of opportunities to learn from the Sky gods) there was plenty of fun. The Video Night was a huge success with some truly professional footages by pilots from all over Australia. The "Formal Dress Flying" showed some of the members in a shape and form we are not used to during our regular activities.
Jaap was the most creative competitor, following the rule "the less the better". Well, if you have a Gradient Compact harness, you do not have to wear anything else! Not sure what Barb used the measuring tape for, but she seems to be quite surprised by the results.
Anybody who didn't take part missed out a big time. A lavish refreshment served by gorgeous ladies was provided by the club for all who participated on this great event.
And there was some show of pilot skills as well. Our beloved APN editor Juli really shone in the Spot Landing competition, challenged only by an old hand Zoltan. And YES - there were Volvo pilots as well!
